Natural raw food cosmetics: Be a raw beauty!
Skin that is full of acne, blemishes, eczema, sensitivity, redness, dryness, inflammation, wrinkles, puffiness, liver spots? Sounds familiar?
Your skin is the outer reflection of your system. Stress, unbalanced emotions, undernourished cells, toxins from processed foods. Your skin shows it all.
Skin that is constantly breaking out, inflamed or crying out for soothing is a clue – and an alarm bell – that something is compromised within your body.
Raw food beauty
Over time, eating raw foods will balance your body from the inside and as a result deal with all the negative skin conditions to uncover your natural glow.
Radiance is a quality that comes from inside and shines through the skin and there is no cream in the world that can fake it.
So why waste money on cosmetic products when you can nourish your beauty from the inside out?
Raw food cosmetics
Well, until that happens, you might wish to use some skin care products. And even when your skin is all clear, smooth and glowing, you might still need some soap and shampoo…?
Your skin is your largest (and most visible) organ. The pores in your skin absorb all lotions and potions that you put onto your body.
So what products to choose so they do not undermine – and if possible support – your raw food diet efforts?
The conventional skin care product
I think that nothing else needs to be said if I list the top 10 of the many (!) chemicals that conventional cosmetics typically include:
- Parabens – the widely used preservatives; very toxic
- Dia/Imidazolidinyl Urea — preservatives; can cause dermatitis
- Methyl / Propyl / Butyl / Ethyl Paraben — preservatives; toxic, can cause allergic reactions
- Petrolatum — mineral oil; can cause sun damage, dry skin
- Propylene Glycol — synthetic, toxic; can cause allergic reactions
- PVP/VA Copolymer —toxic; particles can cause lungs problems (e.g. hairspray)
- Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate — synthetic; can causes irritations, skin rashes, hair loss, allergic reactions (e.g. in shampoo to create foam)
- Stearalkonium Chloride — toxic; can cause allergic reactions (e.g. hair conditioners, creams)
- Synthetic Colors — synthetic colors; can cause cancer (colour for cosmetic and hair dyes)
- Synthetic Fragrances — not unusual to see 200 ingredients in one fragrance and as the label only says “fragrance” you do not really know what you are putting onto your skin; can cause headaches, dizziness, rash, cough, vomiting, skin irritations etc.
The natural skin care product
Skin care products are under-regulated so even products that have words like “natural”, “organic” or “vegan skin care” on their labels can contain hidden preservatives and other toxic additives.
When you finally do come across a truly natural products, the quality or effectiveness (or both) can be lacking.
But of course, there are some good natural products out there.
The raw skin care products
There are a couple of people/companies out there selling raw food cosmetic that rawfoodies love. Why? Because the products are made by rawfoodists for rawfoodists.

Make your point
By supporting companies that produce green, natural, eco-friendly and, in the best case, raw food cosmetics, you make your statement and voice heard. If more and more people take this action, the industry and regulators will have to take notice.
Also, you can help others – who are not as informed as you are – by raising awareness about potentially harmful substances contained in the cosmetic. All effort it takes on your part is to make changes in the beauty products you choose to put on your skin!
